Short scientific biography
I am professor in folklore (anthropology) and linguistics at the University of Bucharest, chief of the Chair of Hungarology (e-mail: gyozo1959@yahoo.com) were I teach Folklore & Ethnology and Onomastics. My researchs are focused on ethnomycology, oral history and ethnoastronomy. I have published 11 books ( etc.). I am co-author and editor of 6, co-author of 54 books and 3 cd-s. I have published more than 100 articles, studies in Romania, Hungary, France, Germany, Austria. I participated at many conferences and congresses in France, Romania, Hungary, Israel, Germany and Finland. I have organized an ethnographical exhibition about the craft and art of using the mushroom (tinder). In 1996 I received a scholarship from the French Government to perform study and research work, an other scholarship (Bolyai) from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. I was distinguished by the Hungarian Society of Linguistic Science (Budapest) with the Csűry Bálint-medal (1997) and distinguished by the Hungarian Ethnographical Society (Hungary) with the title: foreign member of the society (1998).
